Particularly for organic farming, mixed cropping of cereal and legume crops can provide advantages in terms of nutrient use efficiency, weed suppression and more stable yields. For four combinations of cereal and legume crops, this conference poster describes the advantages and disadvantages of mixed cropping. The conference poster also highlights the traits for which breeding is needed to improve the mixed cropping of each of these combinations.
